I was very disappointed with my stay at this ‘lodge’ and hope others will take this into account before booking. Firstly, you are not booking a lodge, it is actually just a small bedroom attached to a lodge. It appears that the owners actually live in the lodge and have just added spare bedrooms either side of their home. The room even has 2 doors inside which lead into their main lodge. It feels as though you are staying in someone’s spare bedroom and you can hear other people throughout your stay. The small bedroom is very basic which I was surprised as other people’s reviews have described the rooms as ‘amazing’. The bed is very comfortable but that’s about it and there’s a small TV. The bathroom is also very small. There is a kettle in the room however I was only provided with ONE sachet of coffee and two sugars. The mugs were filthy and there was no tea spoon. We couldnt even have a cup of coffee each while I opened my birthday presents. There are also plastic cups provided which were all dirty and there are no facilities to wash them. The fridge is located outside in the hot tub garden which is inconvenient. The fridge also must have been too cold because it froze my sandwich and therefore I had to go hungry. They send you numerous emails and remind you numerous times about this being a ‘peaceful’ area which has a strict policy on no loud music or noise however at approximately 9pm there was very very loud booming music right outside the front door followed by loud chatting. Just before midnight there was also lots of shouting and arguing from other guests which I understand can’t be helped however it did seem to go on for quite some time then re started again just before 1am which disturbed our sleep. The loud voices outside continued late into the night. I also purchased an ‘additional extra’ for my 30th birthday which included banner, balloons, rose petals and a bottle of Prosecco. I was massively underwhelmed with this as it consisted of 3 cheap balloons, a few scattered plastic petals, a re usable banner that clearly doesn’t cost them anything at all to re use again and again. Included was the most disgusting, cheap and out of date bottle of Prosecco I have ever tasted in my life which knocked me sick after a few sips and made me feel sick for the rest of night. My advice would be definitely definitely don’t purchase any additional extras. If you wanted a morning dip in the hot tub you can forget it as they were cleaning it by 8.15am the next morning and I had to step over a large hose pie to retrieve my items from the outside fridge. Overall (apart from the mucky cups) the place was relatively clean and tidy and smells very nice. The room isn’t bad apart from it being small. The hot tub was lovely and private enough, but this place just absolutely is not with the price at all. I wouldn’t stay here again as I believe it is very over priced for what you get. I have emailed to express my complaints and a
